On March 11th, 2011 a devastating earthquake and tsunami ravaged our town of Ishinomaki in Northeastern Japan. We have since started the reconstruction of our hometown amid the devastation. Puchinya, a social entrepreneurship established after the quake, aims to revitalize the town’s economy through collaboration with local manufacturers. From the concept of “Made in Ishinomaki”, goods are designed and the assembly and distribution of Puchinya products is outsourced to town residents with temporary housing. Moby Dick Inc., another local company, oversees the outsourcing and contributes to this job creation project for those affected by the natural disaster. Beyond being a brand with a good cause, Puchinya makes quality, practical, and above all adorable products that will make you smile.
